Vegas Tourist Traps That Are Worth Getting Stuck In

When you live in a tourism-driven town, you find out quickly which spots are worth the hype and which you should just skip. While all tourists traps are going to be cliche, some can be an honest way to enjoy the city even if you’re a local just looking to play tourist for the day.

Las Vegas Sign: Yes, the ultimate Vegas tourist trap, but did you really go to Vegas if you didn’t get a picture with the Welcome to Las Vegas sign? Depending what time of year you visit it can actually vary in color. Any time of year there is a chance Elvis may photobomb you.

High Roller at the Linq: Hands down one of the best ways to see the city, especially at night while she’s glowing. While your down there, take some time to explore the Linq Promenade and get yourself something sweet from the cupcake ATM.

Downtown Las Vegas: This area of the valley has simply exploded in the last few years, which is great news for anyone visiting because there is always something going on, any day of the week. Zip down Fremont Street Experience with Slotzilla or walk a little further and tackle the playground and bars and so much more at Container Park. You know you’re in the right place when you’re greeted by a flaming praying mantis.  History buff? Be sure to visit the Mob Museum, trust me you’ll need at least a couple hours to make your way through everything.

Bacchanal Buffet: This one is for my foodies. A Vegas buffet is an odd right of passage for visitors and locals alike. If you’re going to do something, do it right, so if you’re going to take on endless plates of food, that means going to the Bacchanal Buffet in Caesars Palace. I’m telling you, the cheesecake brought a tear to my eye.

What are some other favorite tourist traps that people have suggested to you or that you would suggest taking on despite the crowds?
