Things have been so heavy and busy lately that I can’t tell you how much I’m looking forward to this Saturday when Sam Boyd Stadium is transformed to house the Monster Energy Cup dirt track and the smell of exhaust, stadium food and fun fill the air making it officially feel like fall has come to the valley! Especially since the temperatures would like to say otherwise.
Call it a family tradition, but I’m a big fan of things that go fast, motorcycles and ATVs in particular. If you’re not familiar, the Monster Energy Cup heads to Vegas and challenges the world’s top Supercross riders to compete in three, 10-lap main events. To win, riders need the endurance to be the best across all three main events and to win a whopping $1 million, a single rider must win all three main events. This year’s track is once again inspired by 5-time Supercross Champion, Ricky Carmichael. Ryan Villopoto is the only rider to have ever claimed the elusive million dollar jackpot back in 2011.
It’s a full day event kicking off at noon with numerous activities including the Pit Party, a live DJ, rider autographs, freestyle motocross and more. All leading up to the main event at 6 p.m. when the gate drops and the serious fun starts.
My boyfriend Luis and I plan on heading out there pretty early as to not miss a thing. I especially love catching all the freestyle demonstrations, vendors, not to mention you never know who you’ll run into in the pits. But why take my word for it? If you’re in Vegas you should join me and head down yourself! Tickets start at only $20 for a full day’s worth of fun, grab yours here. If not, you can follow me on Instagram sharing all Saturday’s excitement live!
I hope to see you all there!
